Nick Larigakis, president and Chief Executive Officer of the American Hellenic
Institute, commented on Menendez case and the United Nations General
Assembly week, where he met the Greek Prime Minister and the President of
Cyprus. “The Greek prime Minister met with Erdogan prior to our meeting, he
didn’t announce any details, except that the meeting went well. We are expecting
now the meeting of the two prime ministers of Greece and Turkey, at the
Supreme Cooperation Council, in Thesaloniki, on December 7 th ”, commented Mr.
Larigakis. As the UN announced, the Secretary-General and the Prime Minister of
Greece, exchanged views on the way forward on the Cyprus issue. They also
discussed climate action and the need to make progress on short-term climate
adaptation. Mr. Larigakis described as a tremendous loss for the Greek Interests
the resignation of the senator Bob Menendez, as a chairman of the Foreign
Relations Committee. “Its important for Greek people to cultivate relationship
with more political representatives, we cant depend in one person.
