- Your show host Robert and special guest Gene Winfield. Gene is a world renowned car customizer. Gene started racing hot rods when he got out of the service after WWII. He honed his car skills in the army. Soon he began working on cars behind the family home, converting an old chicken coupe to a shop. He started out doing mechanicals and before long he was doing bodywork which led to car customizing. One of his first well known custom cars was the "StripStar", a wild design, with a custom hand made aluminum body and loads of trick stuff, including a hydraulic hatch. It was powered by a powerfull Ford 427 engine. He also built a futuristic car call the "Reactor" which was featuted in hit TV shows like Bewitched, Batman and Startrek. He also built the Shuttlecraft Galileo for the TV Startrek series and built numerous TV and movie cars as well. Gene worked for AMT in Phoenix and built custom cars and then recreated them as scale car model kits. He built 25 furturistic cars for the 80's cult SCIFI movie "Bladerunner". Gene continues building custom cars, attending shows and conducting workshops around the world.
